Beach houses – incredible property value
When it comes to beachfront property in the Uk you will find some are selling for the prices you would expect to pay for a house! Often referred to as a beach hut, and that’s exactly what it often is, a hut. So, could the price of a hut go for the price of a house, just because it’s on a UK beach?
In the Uk, Beach huts are largely a derivative of a changing room to keep bathers modest on the beaches, unlike the beach houses that are found in USA often associated with beach gardens and all sorts of additional luxuries. We found a few years back a beach hut selling for almost £235,000.
This beach hut sold as “Chalet number 4, on Beach Road, in West Bexington, Dorset, boasts stunning sea views along the Jurassic coastline. It boasted a kitchen, toilet and one bedroom measuring 2.87m x 2.62m.
Again in dorset, a garage in Sandbanks sold for almost £100,000. Sandbanks near the town of Poole is the fourth most expensive place in the world to live and, with the average house price at more than £500,000, it is the most expensive seaside town in the UK.
Another ridiculous find in our search for the most expensive UK beach hut was found in Salcombe Devon. Though this was actually a boatshed. It sold in 2006 for sells for £402,000
So why these hideous prices? It’s been long beleived that the seaside means good health, one reason Bournemouth developed so rapidly. With the invigorating, salty sea smell, the sound of the screaching seagulls, it has some appeal.
With serious demand for beachfront houses in locations such as Brighton, Dover, Bournemouth and Worthing, it can be a tale of waiting lists, and price increases. No longer will a little beach hut remain the price of a hut.
